BERLIN: June 1-6
The program starts in the capital of Germany: the vibrant city of Berlin, with its rich history, spectacular monuments and museums, trendy restaurants, clubs and parks. A visit to East Berlin and to the remnants of the Berlin Wall is a great opportunity to reflect on the profound transformations that Eastern Europe has experienced in the last two decades. There will be an optional weekend trip to Amsterdam.
PRAGUE: June 6-9
From Berlin we travel to the fairy-tale city of Prague with the impressive Prague Castle, Old Town Square and the famous Charles Bridge. Prague has become the most popular destination in Eastern Europe for its unique architecture, captivating atmosphere, and remarkable cuisine.
WARSAW: June 9-13
From Prague the group will travel east to Warsaw, Poland, one of the most important capitals in Eastern Europe. Students will be free to roam the narrow streets of the Old Town and visit imposing castles and cathedrals. Warsaw's Old Town is listed on UNESCO's list of World Heritage Sites. The visit to Poland has been timed to coincide with the start of one of the most important international sport events in the world: the 2012 European Soccer Championship known as "Euro 2012"! The city of Warsaw is expected to have a very festive atmosphere with the inflow of hundreds of thousands of visitors from all over the world. Students will be able to attend several soccer games featuring some of the best national teams in the world, including England, Spain, France, Italy, Holland and Germany. There will be an optional weekend trip to Moscow.
KRAKOW and VIENNA: June 13-21
From Warsaw we travel south to beautiful, historic Krakow, considered one of the gems of Eastern Europe. Krakow was the royal seat of the Polish kingdom for more than five centuries and its streets are teeming with striking architecture. The students will visit the medieval Old Town, the famous Wawel Castle, and at night they will enjoy one of Europe's most exciting restaurant and club scenes in the Kazimierz district. After Krakow the program continues in the former imperial capital of Vienna, on the banks of the Danube River. Vienna is home to such architectural treasures as the Royal Palace of Schonbrunn, Saint Stephan's Cathedral and the Vienna Opera House. Other attractions include the Spanish Riding School, the Sigmund Freud Museum and boat rides on the Danube River. Vienna is also the host of a number of prominent international organizations such as OPEC and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), which we will visit as part of the program. There will be an optional weekend trip to Budapest.
BARCELONA: June 21-27
The visit to Vienna marks the end of the Eastern European segment of the program. The students then fly to Barcelona, one of the most popular cities in Europe, with its gorgeous coastline, mountains, and museums. Barcelona is a powerful center of industry and commerce with the largest port on the Mediterranean. Students will visit several leading Spanish and multinational companies and will take classes at the campus of the AACSB-accredited IQS School of Management, part of the prestigious Ramon Llull University. There will be optional weekend trips to Ibiza and Madrid.
PARIS: June 28-July 2
From Barcelona, the students and professors travel by train to Paris, the most visited city in the world and the heart of French culture, politics and business. In Paris, students can visit the Louvre Museum, the Notre Dame cathedral and the Arc de Triomphe, and stroll along the banks of the Seine River and the Champs-Elysées. You will also have opportunities to visit several multinational companies and international organizations such as UNESCO and OECD. There will be optional weekend trips to London and Amsterdam.
GENEVA and INTERLAKEN: July 2-7
Our voyage through Switzerland begins with visits to two prominent international organizations in Geneva: the highly influential World Trade Organization, and the European headquarters of the United Nations in the beautiful and historic Palais des Nations. After Geneva the group will take a break from big cities and stay four days in the charming resort town of Interlaken, in the middle of the Swiss Alps, surrounded by lakes and forests.
MILAN: July 7-11
From Interlaken we will travel through the mountains to Milan, Italy's economic and financial center. Classes are held in the beautiful historic campus of the Catholic University of Milan, housed in a 14th century monastery. There will be great professional visits to leading companies in fashion, advertising and electronics, as well as optional weekend trips to Rome, Venice and Florence.
ATHENS and RHODES: July 12-20
After Italy the group will take an exciting cruise-style boat trip to Greece, the cradle of democracy and home of the great classical philosophers. Athens, a bustling metropolis, offers an exceptional insight into Mediterranean culture and business. After an intensive stay with classes, professional visits, a cultural tour of the Parthenon and optional weekend trips to Santorini, Mykonos and Istanbul, there is a second cruise-style overnight boat trip to the Island of Rhodes. Students will stay in a 5-star beachside resort, attend classes in the resort's conference center, and have the opportunity to visit the charming Old Town encircled by majestic mediaeval walls. On the last day of the program, there will be a festive farewell dinner and diploma ceremony featuring traditional food and music.

Course List #1 Course List #2 Course SyllabiIndependent Study
Students enrolled in an independent study choose a customized focus for their course (e.g. European NGOs, Entrepreneurship in Europe, Integration and Marginalization of Immigrants, The European Fashion Industry) and submit a proposal to their faculty advisor. The students earn 3 credits once they satisfy the course requirements, which usually include the preparation of a creative portfolio. We encourage the submission of multimedia portfolios including audio and video materials. Students may attend any classes or professional visits relevant to their research topic.
Auditing
Students who do not want or need to earn credits for their courses may elect to register as auditors. They attend class but are not required to take the exams or complete the course assignments. Auditors are expected to participate in one professional or cultural visit per city.

Professional Visits
In addition to insightful classes, students learn a great deal from a number of valuable professional visits. Based on the courses they are taking, students will visit leading companies, financial institutions, government agencies, and international organizations. Most visits include detailed discussions with officials of the companies and organizations. Each student will visit at least four companies or organizations per class.
