About Us

Forum-Nexus Study Abroad has 20 years of experience specializing in intensive summer and winter programs, taught in English, for undergraduate and graduate students. The programs are held in some of the most attractive and dynamic cities in the world. Students will greatly improve their global awareness, cultural intelligence, and International-IQ as they learn from their professors, their surroundings, and the companies and organizations they visit.

Forum-Nexus Study Abroad: Multi-Country Summer and Winter Programs in Europe and South Africa.

Forum-Nexus Study Abroad is a traveling course offered in the Summer and Winter breaks (usually in January and June/July of each year). The unique aspect of Forum-Nexus is that students have the opportunity to travel with college professors across Europe, visiting universities, companies, international organizations and more. Students study in classrooms in the morning, visit companies in the afternoon, and have inter-cultural and tourist opportunities abundant throughout a full month of traveling across Europe (all within the confines of a well-structured university setting).

Why are we called “Forum-Nexus”?
  • fo·rum: Pronunciation: \fôr-əm\ = a medium of open discussion or expression of ideas
  • nex·us: Pronunciation: \nek-səs\ = connection, link

Forum-Nexus Study Abroad was born 19 years ago with the goal of creating

  • a FORUM for discussion and exchange of ideas on the economic, political, cultural and business landscape in Europe, while at the same time building
  • a NEXUS between students from around the world and European students, executives, professors and government officials
History

Forum-Nexus Study Abroad was the brainchild of Dr. Hugo Hervitz, a highly respected professor of International Business in Miami, an economics commentator for CNN, and a passionate proponent of global education and cross-cultural sensitivity. Professor Hervitz brought together an elite multinational team of experienced senior European professors:

  • Professor Edoardo Teodoro Brioschi, a Distinguished Professor of Advertising and Business Strategy at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan, Italy, considered one of Europe?s leading authorities in the field of Business Communication
  • Professor Carlos Moslares García, a beloved professor of Economics and Finance and Vice-Dean at the AACSB-accredited IQS Business School of the Ramon Llull University in Barcelona, Spain, with extensive multinational academic and business experience in Europe, the U.S., Latin America and North Africa
  • Professor Georges Rocourt, Professor of Finance and Chairman of the Management Department at Franklin College, Switzerland, with a distinguished career in global banking and finance in the U.S. and Europe and widely admired by students and colleagues as a true Renaissance man for his encyclopedic mastery of a wide variety of subjects ranging from Greek mythology to European politics

The four professors and friends shared a passion for

  • broadening the global perspective of foreign students interested in Europe
  • raising their levels of International IQ
  • increasing their cross-cultural sensitivity, and
  • improving their knowledge of the European economic, political and cultural environment

The Forum-Nexus Study Abroad programs constituted the perfect vehicle for achieving these goals. Since its creation, over 2,500 students from the U.S., Latin America, Asia and the Middle East have participated in Forum-Nexus summer and winter programs.
